COMMUNITY ALCOHOL AWARENESS and IDENTIFICATION AND BRIEF ADVICE TRAINING WORKSHOPS
ICAS offer free Alcohol Awareness and Identification and Brief Advice (IBA) training workshops to all staff and volunteers in health, community, criminal justice and other settings who regularly come into contact with individuals who may be drinking riskily and/or harmfully.
Our training covers general alcohol awareness, including government recommended unit guidelines and the psychological and physical harms of risky drinking.
We will teach you how to use an alcohol screening tool and start a conversation with an individual who may be drinking riskily. At the end of the workshop, you will feel confident in offering the individual some brief advice and information on; units, harm to health, benefits of cutting down and strategies on how to do this.
