The Camden Community

In recent days, we have been made aware of a number of incidents of race hate which, if left unchecked, have the potential to undermine the strong community cohesion that exist in Camden, and leave some residents feeling vulnerable.

Camden is, and must remain, a place that embraces and celebrates diversity.  We have always welcomed people from different countries and backgrounds and valued the contribution they make.

W ask that in this time of uncertainty you join us and Camden Council in reassuring our communities that we are One Camden – a place for all.  We must all stand together now to support everyone that lives and works here.

We have been made aware of incidents of hate crime following the EU referendum.   This is not something we will accept; there is no place for hate in Camden.

It is important in this time of uncertainty that we share information and intelligence and build up a clear picture of events on the ground.

Please join us in encouraging anyone who has experienced hate crime to report this to the Police via the police’s 101 number.

If individuals have concerns about community tensions they can contact us, the Council, via 020 7974 4444 or by email

People should phone 999 if they or others are in immediate danger.
